During the 15th and 16th centuries, explorers set out to find new sea routes for trade but instead discovered Noth and South America. These lands were full of Natives, resources and seemingly endless opportunity. In this 8th Grade Social Studies course, you will learn about the beginning of American settlement in the 1400s and 1500s all the way through the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s. You'll explore the early colonies and learn about the struggles these people faced. You'll study wars and how the American government came to be and how through shifts like the Industrial Revolution, our whole society changed so much forever impacting the future of America and the world.
