Think back to a time when you traveled to a new destination—perhaps you went on vacation, or moved to a new home. How did you get there? Did you use a map or global-positioning system (GPS)? Or did someone provide you with directions? Once you were familiar with the area, what landmarks helped you find your way back? How did you know where to turn and how far to travel down a road?What do you think geography is? Many people think of maps and globes right away. This is true, but geography is also the study of Earth, therefore, it involves physical geography. But there is so much more to it. Geography is a field that encompasses many subjects such as biology, geology, history, and anthropology—just to name a few! This course will not only help you to locate places on Earth, such as major cities and countries, but also to identify Earth's different spheres and understand how human actions impact the physical Earth.In this course we will learn about places and the people who live there. We will learn about the physical geography along with the history and culture of that place as we cover the main regions of the world.
