The Keystone Experience

Keystone students learn at a distance, but the support and school experience are hands-on.

As a Keystone student, you can connect with a community of teachers, staff, student success advisors, counselors, administrative staff, and other students. The result is an engaging and active experience that encourages learning.

Despite being at a distance, our teachers and staff provide one-on-one support to students and assistance at every step to their educational goals. Students can connect with other learners through discussion forums, clubs, and even staff-moderated social media platforms.

One-on-One Teacher Support

Enrolled Keystone students receive support from our licensed and certified teachers who will work with them to support course material and monitor course needs. More than half of our teachers on staff hold masters or doctoral degrees. We encourage students to reach out to their teachers as often as they need. Students can count on a timely response from teachers with answers to their questions, feedback on assignments, and to help when they need it.

Student Success Advisors
  • Middle School & High School

Student Success Advisors for middle and high schoolers are available to help craft a plan of success for each student. They will answer questions, assist with goal setting, and help with course selections.

In the online elementary program, Learning Coaches (typically a parent or guardian) play an important part in the education process. A Learning Coach can be the student's parent or another adult who will be responsible for ensuring their student is on track with assignments and coursework.

Guidance Counseling

As part of Keystone’s mission to empower students in middle and high school to achieve their academic and personal goals, a Keystone guidance counselor will play a key role. In addition, our counselors offer monthly online sessions on a host of relevant topics.

For our high school program, guidance counselors are licensed and trained to help students with post-high school planning, including college application processes and career discovery.

Student Services

Keystone Student Services is available to help students and parents with every aspect of their education. The goal of the Student Services team is to support student success, whether it's through assistance with courses, education planning, or questions regarding financial options.

Parent Involvement

Keystone is committed to helping parents become actively involved in their child’s education by providing tools that keep them up to date on their child’s achievements. To stay involved, all parents have access to and are encouraged to utilize the Keystone Support Application. This web application provides up-to-date visibility into student course level progress, course grades, visibility into account balance, and connections with the Keystone support teams, including teachers and Student Success Advisors.

Keystone Community

Keystone offers many opportunities for high school students to join the thriving Keystone learning community and connect. We’re connecting students across the country and around the world.

The Keystone Chapter of the National Honor Society

The National Honor Society (NHS) elevates a school’s commitment to the values of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. These four pillars have been associated with membership in the organization since its inception in 1921. Full time Keystone students who are sophomores, juniors or seniors are eligible if they’ve earned a minimum of 5 Keystone credits – one of which must be Language Arts.

Students must be registered as full-time, diploma-seeking students who have been enrolled for at least one year and have earned a 3.75 GPA to be considered. Upon meeting the grade level, enrollment and GPA standards, students will then be considered based on service, leadership and character. Eligible students are inducted into the Chapter in the Fall.
