School Experience: Academic Support
Teacher Support
Teachers are an integral part of your student’s Keystone experience. All Keystone teachers are licensed and certified, have an average of eight years of experience as educators, and each of them is trained on how to teach in an online environment. Students are encouraged to reach out to their teachers as often as they need to understand the course concepts and complete assignments successfully. Teachers respond to student questions within one business day and give feedback to assignments within three business days for online courses and seven business days for correspondence courses.
Learning Coach
Each year thousands of students new to online learning succeed at Keystone. Keystone's Learning Coach reaches out to families students enrolled in Keystone full-time (4 or more courses) to answer questions, assist with individual goal setting and ensure that students are comfortable with their new learning environment. The learning coach is available to families throughout their time at Keystone to assist them in formulating a plan for success. The learning coach also hosts a monthly student orientation and parent meeting.
Guidance Counseling
Keystone’s mission is to empower students to achieve their academic and personal goals and the guidance team plays a central role in accomplishing this. Led by a Licensed Guidance Counselor, the team helps families with course selection, post-high school planning and application processes. Students and parents can participate in monthly online sessions on timely topics.
