The Keystone School | Online High School and Middle School

Curriculum: Advanced Courses

Advanced Courses: Challenging Our Students

As part of our commitment to fostering the highest academic standards, Keystone offers a range of advanced courses for both middle school and high school students.

Middle School

Our advanced courses for Middle School include Algebra 1, Spanish 1, German 1, and French 1.

High School

At the high school level Keystone offers Honors and AP courses to help students stretch to their full potential.

Honors Courses

Keystone's Honors courses offer academic challenges above and beyond our normal courses. Honors courses are ideal for college-bound students who want to gain a competitive edge when applying to their schools of choice, or for any ambitious student who desires to demonstrate that he or she has mastered a subject more deeply.  Keystone's honors courses are full-credit online courses and generally take an additional 20 hours of study to complete, as they require more focus on gaining, testing, and applying higher-order thinking skills.

Advanced Placement (AP) Courses

AP Courses are college-level courses that are offered as part of a high school program. Taking AP courses can be highly beneficial to a high school student’s education for a number of reasons. It can prove to a college admissions officer the ability to excel and achieve. It can allow a student to receive college credit before entering college and without paying college tuition.

Students who complete AP courses are eligible to take the AP exams, administered each May by the College Board. These exams are scored on a scale of 1-5. Students scoring between a 3 and 5 may qualify for college credit at most colleges and universities. Visit collegeboard.com for more information about AP courses and college credit.
