Results From the Keystone Science Fair

Inspired by the first annual Google Science Fair, we at Keystone encouraged our students to participate and also chose to run a parallel competition just for Keystone students.

Students met in Elluminate sessions to learn about the rules and format of the contest and for a review of the scientific method. Students worked independently on their investigation of choice and we are proud to share with you the top four entries in hopes that it will inspire others to participate next year.

We invite you to view the winning presentations below, and join us in congratulating the outstanding students who participated!

Grand Prize - Michelle Marie Prieto, Tania Guy Pownall, and Konatsu Furuya
The Effects of Neutral Substances on Acidic Solutions (.pptx)

Runners-Up - Shuhei Furuya and Mikyla Pownall
The Effect of Acid on the Buffer Capacity of Different Bodies of Water (.pptx)

Vote For Your Favorite Google Doodle!

Last month, we invited our students to create a doodle for the Doodle4Google contest. We only had a few students participate this year, but we're proud of their submissions!

We will be submitting all of these doodles to Google for the contest, but we wanted to have some fun and let our own community of Keystone students and parents vote for their favorite!

Paying For College: Financial Aid Meeting on Thursday, January 27th

Paying for college can be a challenge for many families. Fortunately, there are ways to secure financial aid to help make a college education more affordable. Student aid is money provided by the federal government or another entity, such as a school or a state government, to help students pay for college.

Next Thursday, January 27th, I will be hosting an online discussion  about the various forms of financial aid available for students wishing to attend post-secondary institutions.
